Perplexing issue! So, this is a strong argument that at least for “Summer Samba”, “Fireworks” and “Rubrum” commerce should not be touched by the 1143 regulation, right? Funny that the trade has all kinds of names, e.g., Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’.

Uwe you may have followed the discussion at one of our EPPO panel meetings.

I initially assumed that the any hybrid of a Union listed species would be intrinsically be included in the ban. However, the Commission specified that it needs to be explicitly be mentioned as such in the risk assessment. So none of the P. advena cultivars, even those with P. advena “blood” are affected by the trade ban.
